Based in Denver, serving Colorado
Find freedom from the cycles that are holding you back so you can move forward with confidence and create the life you want to live
Welcome
I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Alison (she/her) and I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based in Denver, Colorado. I’m passionate about helping people break free from the cycles of anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD.
It feels like anxiety is ruling your life…
…You’re trying your best to control it, to make yourself "calm down" and not “go there”, but it only seems to make it worse. You try to distract yourself, but the thoughts keep coming back over and over again. Despite all your efforts, anxiety is still calling the shots as you feel your life shrink smaller and smaller, and you're completely exhausted. You wonder: Will my anxiety ever go away? Will I ever have control over my mind? Control over my own life?
There is a path forward, and you don’t have to go it alone.
I help individuals navigate anxiety, panic disorder, and OCD so they can break free from the cycles that are holding them back and confidently move forward with their lives.
Here’s what therapy with me looks like:
Weekly or biweekly 55-minute sessions so we can keep momentum and progress going
Using a combination of:
Mindfulness: to practice being in the present moment without judging yourself or your experience
Parts Work/ IFS: exploring different parts of yourself so you can have a deeper understanding of why you operate the way you do, and create a more loving relationship with all parts of yourself
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): to explore concrete skills that help you feel better now
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT): to gain more awareness of your thinking patterns and what’s helping vs getting in the way
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP): increasing your tolerance to discomfort so you can decrease fear over time, leading to less compulsive behavior
Regular check-ins so we can make sure you’re getting what you need out of therapy and make changes as needed
Unwavering support and compassion from me
By the end of therapy you will…
Have concrete skills that help you manage and prevent anxiety, panic attacks, and obsessions and compulsions
Be able to handle your emotions without pushing them away
Feel empowered and confident in your ability to handle what life throws at you
Feel in touch with your own inner wisdom
Understand and LOVE yourself on a deeper level
